At the office of Dr. Allan J. Petrisor, we believe good dental habits started at an early age lead to happier and healthier lives as children grow.
At the first visit (at about age 3), kids sit in the dental chair while cavity-detecting X-rays are taken, as well as a set of four digital camera pictures. Dr. Petrisor then inspects and counts the teeth present. An assistant then visits with each child to teach lifelong skills for brushing, nutrition and “sugar bugs” (cavities). Parents are invited to become involved in educating their little ones about dental care and reinforcing positive dental practices.
At the end of the visit, kids are invited to pick out a prize from our Treasure Chest. Each child also receives a toothbrush to take home, as well as a printout of their pictures.
Feeling Good, Staying Healthy
Children, through positive reinforcement at every visit, develop a sense of pride in their smile and understand their role in keeping it bright and healthy. Your child is then given the homecare tools and knowledge that develop into adult routines needed for the next phase of dental health. It’s these early positive experiences that lead to a lifetime of healthy habits.
